Telugu actor Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024, in connection with a stampede incident at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule. The incident, which occurred on December 4, resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman named Revathi and left her nine-year-old son hospitalized due to asphyxiation.

The stampede was reportedly triggered by an unscheduled appearance by Allu Arjun at the theatre, leading to overwhelming crowds and subsequent chaos.

Following the incident, an FIR was filed against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station.

On December 13, a police team from Chikkadpally arrived at Allu Arjun’s residence in Jubilee Hills and took him into custody. He was subsequently transported to the police station for questioning.

The actor’s father, filmmaker Allu Arvind, and other family members were present during the arrest.

This incident has raised concerns about crowd management and safety protocols during high-profile events. Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the tragedy to determine accountability and prevent future occurrences.
